Healthy Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon unrefined coconut oil
- 1 cup minced onion
- 1 tablespoon naturally-fermented soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/3 teaspoon ground chipotle chili powder
- 1 teaspoon dry basil
- 1 teaspoon dry oregano
- 1 6oz can tomato paste
- 1 ¼ cups homemade beef broth
- 2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon stevia
- 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions
- Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook stirring for about 5 minutes.
- Add all the remaining ingredients.
- Whisk until smooth and bring it to a low boil, covered.
- Reduce heat and allow to simmer, stirring often until the mixture thickened, about 25-30 minutes.
- Pour into a glass jar.
- Allow it to cool.
- Cover and place in your refrigerator.
- Use this within 2 weeks or freeze.
