Western North Carolina Style BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 cups White Vinegar
- 1 1/2 cups Heinz Ketchup
- 1 1/2 cups Packed Dark Brown Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
- 1 tablespoon Kosher Salt
Instructions
- In a nonreactive saucepan, whisk together all the ingredients.
- Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Lower the heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, until the sauce just coats the back of a wooden spoon—it’s not intended to be overly thick.
- Cool the sauce and use it immediately or store it for later use in the fridge, where it will keep for 2 to 3 months.
