Peppery Grilled Sirloin
Ingredients
Makes 4 servings
Prep: 15 min.; Chill: 2 hrs., 30 min.; Grill: 14 min.
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 4½ tablespoons fresh lime juice about 1 to 2 limes
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 4 ¾-inch-thick top sirloin steaks
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Combine first 7 ingredients in a large shallow dish or zip-top freezer bag; add steaks.
- Cover or seal, and chill at least 2½ hours, turning occasionally.
- Remove steaks, reserving marinade.
- Bring marinade to a boil in a small saucepan; boil 1 minute.
- Sprinkle steaks with salt.
- Grill, covered with grill lid, over medium-high heat (350° to 400°), basting often with reserved marinade, 7 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness.
- Discard any excess marinade.
