Oyster Sauce Glazed Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 1 pound Chicken wings about 8 wings
- 3 slices Fresh ginger root
- Vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons Oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dry sherry
- 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 cup Water
Instructions
- Cut each chicken wing into two pieces by separating at the joint, discarding the tips.
- Heat the ginger slices in a wok with vegetable oil.
- Add a third of the chicken wings at a time and brown them.
- Once the wings are browned, drain the excess oil and remove the ginger slices from the wok.
- In a bowl, mix oyster sauce, dry sherry, sugar, soy sauce, and water.
- Place the browned wings in the wok and pour the sauce mixture over them.
- Simmer covered for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Uncover and continue cooking for an additional 12 to 15 minutes, basting frequently with the sauce until the wings are tender and nicely glazed.
