Ingredients

  • 2 cups full-fat milk
  • 1 tablespoon yogurt/curds/dahi
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  • In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, bring the milk to a boil over medium heat.
  • Add sugar to the boiling milk and mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Let the milk mixture cool down to room temperature.
  • Preheat the oven to the “Warm” setting.
  • Transfer the cooled milk mixture to an oven-proof dish.
  • Add yogurt to the milk mixture and mix well to combine.
  • Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and let it stand overnight (at least 8 hours) to allow the yogurt to set and ferment.
  • Once set, transfer the misti doi to the refrigerator to chill.
  • Serve the chilled misti doi as a delightful dessert.
