Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic chopped
  • 14.5- ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 6- ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2.5 cups bowtie pasta uncooked
  • 3/4 cup small-curd cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with chopped onion and garlic.
  • Drain excess fat.
  • Add diced tomatoes with their juice, water, tomato paste, dried parsley, dried oregano, and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Stir in the uncooked bowtie pasta, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat.
  • Cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until the pasta is tender, stirring once.
  • In a small bowl, combine cottage cheese and grated Parmesan.
  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of the cheese mixture onto the pasta.
  • Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the cheeses melt.
