Ingredients

  • 4 cans14.5 oz each organic diced tomatoes with Italian herbs, undrained
  • 1 can 6 oz tomato paste
  • 1 large onion chopped (1 cup)
  • 8 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 24 oz uncooked spaghetti
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese if desired

Instructions

  • Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • In cooker, mix all ingredients except spaghetti and cheese.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
  • Cook and drain spaghetti as directed on package.
  • Serve sauce over spaghetti.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.

Notes & Wine Advice

This all-purpose sauce is simple to prepare. Make it often and keep a few extra containers in the freezer. Ladle the cooked sauce into airtight freezer containers; cover and freeze up to 1 month.
