Ingredients

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup lard butter, or margarine
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 7 cups flour

Instructions

  • Cream together the sugar, shortening, and eggs.
  • Mix baking soda, cream of tartar, and sour cream together.
  • Add alternately with flour to the creamed mixture.
  • Refrigerate overnight or for several hours.
  • Roll out dough and cut in desired shapes.
  • Bake at 400° for 8–10 minutes.
