- 28- ounce can whole Italian plum tomatoes crushed
- 5 to 6 tablespoons fresh basil chopped

- 12- ounce package penne pasta cooked
Garnish:

Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil.
- Add crushed tomatoes with juice, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
- Stir in toasted almonds.
