- 2 ½ Teaspoons Kosher Salt Divided
- 8 Ounces Uncooked Penne Pasta
- 2 12-Ounce Bags Frozen Cauliflower Florets
- 1 12-Ounce Bag Frozen Broccoli Florets
- 3 Tablespoons Salted Butter
- 1 ½ Cups Frozen Chopped Onions
- 4 Cubes Frozen Crushed Garlic
- 3 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
- 2 ½ Cups 1% Milk
- ¼ Cup Heavy Cream
- ¾ Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
- 2 Cups 8 Ounces Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- ¾ Cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 6-Ounce Can Solid White Albacore Tuna In Water, Drained
Instructions
- In A Large Pot, Bring 2 Quarts Water To A Boil.
- Add 1 Teaspoon Salt And Penne.
- Cook For 10 Minutes, Drain, And Return To Pot.
- Cook Cauliflower And Broccoli In The Microwave According To Package Directions.
- Drain Any Water From The Bags And Add Vegetables To The Penne.
- Heat A Large Skillet Over High Heat.
- When Hot, Add Butter, Onions, And Garlic.
- Sauté Until Onions Soften, About 3 Minutes.
- Add Flour, Mix Well, And Cook For 1 Minute Before Adding Milk, Cream, Remaining 1 ½ Teaspoons Salt, And Pepper.
- Whisk Well To Combine Flour With Milk.
- Bring To A Boil And Allow Sauce To Thicken, About 3–5 Minutes, Before Adding Cheddar And Parmesan.
- Mix And Allow Cheeses To Melt.
- Pour Cheese Sauce Over Pasta And Add Tuna.
