If you love some extraness, grill your avocados before mashing them into guacamole. You’ll be thankful for the smoky tones.

Ingredients

Serves: 4

  • 3 ripe avocados pitted
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ medium white onion finely diced
  • 1 Roma tomato finely diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper or to taste cored and finely chopped 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • ¼ tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Toss avocados with olive oil and grill in a grill pan over medium heat for 1 to 3 minutes or until slightly toasted.
  • Stir frequently.
  • Mash avocados in a bowl using a potato masher or fork to your desired consistency.
  • Add remaining ingredients and fold in well.
  • Serve guacamole.
