Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef cube steak quartered
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1.35- oz. package onion soup mix
  • 1 cube beef bouillon
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup fat-free sour cream

Optional:

  • 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
  • Cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoe

Instructions

  • Season the cube steak with salt and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the steak and brown on both sides.
  • In a bowl, combine onion soup mix, beef bouillon cube, and boiling water.
  • Stir until the bouillon is dissolved.
  • Pour the soup mixture over the steak, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the steak is no longer pink in the center.
  • Add sour cream and mushrooms (if using).
  • Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.
