Brown Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup lard butter, or margarine, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 cups sour milk
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 5 cups flour sifted
Instructions
- Cream together the brown sugar, shortening, and eggs.
- Stir soda into sour milk
- Sift baking powder, salt, and flour together.
- Add milk and dry ingredients alternately to creamed mixture.
- Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350° for 7–8 minutes.
