Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup lard butter, or margarine, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups sour milk
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 5 cups flour sifted

Instructions

  • Cream together the brown sugar, shortening, and eggs.
  • Stir soda into sour milk
  • Sift baking powder, salt, and flour together.
  • Add milk and dry ingredients alternately to creamed mixture.
  • Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350° for 7–8 minutes.
