Ingredients

  • Minced garlic: 1 clove
  • Paprika: 5 tablespoons
  • Diced onion: 2 large
  • Butter: 2 tablespoons
  • Water: 2 cups
  • Flank steak: 2 pounds
  • Cubed and peeled potatoes: 4 large
  • Caraway seed: 1/8 teaspoon
  • Pepper and salt: to taste
  • Dried marjoram: ¼ teaspoon

Instructions

  • Melt butter in one large pot (soup) over medium heat.
  • Sauté onions to make them soft.
  • Add beef and make it brown.
  • Mix in paprika, garlic, marjoram and caraway seeds.
  • Pour water in the pot and reduce heat to almost low.
  • Simmer for almost 2 ½ hours.
  • Mix potato in the pot mixture and cook for almost 45 minutes – 1 hour to tender.
  • Season with pepper and salt to taste.
