Ingredients

  • 7 cups peeled and chopped mangoes
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ¾ cup water
  • cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice

Instructions

  • Combine mangoes, orange juice, and water in a medium saucepan.
  • Simmer for approximately 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mangoes are very tender.
  • Puree mango mixture in food mill or food processor.
  • Return mango mixture to medium pan and add sugar and juice.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer for approximately 35 minutes, or until thickened.
  • Ladle into clean jars and process for 10 minutes in boiling-water bath.
