A Cherry Compote with Lemon Verbena

Ingredients

sweet cherries
halved and pitted

sugar

lemon verbena leaves
Instructions
In a small pot, combine the cherries and sugar.
Add ¼ cup water and the lemon verbena.
Set the pot over low heat and stir occasionally until the mixture comes to a simmer.
Simmer until the cherries are completely soft, 6 to 8 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat and discard the lemon verbena.
Serve warm.
