Crispy air fryer chicken wings coated in a buttery Buffalo sauce and served with a cool homemade ranch dressing. Smoked paprika, garlic and black pepper give the wings extra flavour, while the creamy ranch balances the chilli heat.
1teaspoon onion or small bunch chivesfinely chopped, optional
Instructions
Pat the chicken wings dry thoroughly with kitchen paper. In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, cornflour, garlic powder, smoked paprika, sea salt and black pepper. Toss the wings with the seasoning mixture until evenly coated.
Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 200°C for 25 to 35 minutes, turning halfway through, until crisp, golden and completely cooked through.
To make the Buffalo sauce, melt the butter with the hot sauce and honey in a small frying pan over low heat. Stir until smooth and combined.
To make the ranch dressing, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream or yoghurt, garlic powder, lemon juice and finely chopped onion or chives in a medium bowl. Stir until creamy and evenly mixed.
Toss the hot cooked wings in the Buffalo sauce until thoroughly coated. Serve immediately with the ranch dressing on the side.

Serving Suggestions
Serve the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Wings immediately while they are hot and crisp, with the chilled ranch dressing alongside. They work particularly well as Fingerfood for parties or Game Day. Celery and carrot sticks make simple fresh accompaniments.
Recipe Notes
Dry the chicken wings thoroughly before adding the seasoning. Removing surface moisture helps the baking powder and cornflour create a much crisper exterior in the air fryer.Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. The hot air needs to circulate around the wings for even browning. If your air fryer is small, cook the wings in batches rather than stacking them.
Variations
Increase the hot sauce for hotter Buffalo wings or add a little more honey for a sweeter sauce. You can also add cayenne pepper to the dry seasoning for extra heat. For a stronger ranch flavour, add extra chopped chives to the dressing.
Storage and Reheating
Store leftover cooked wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Keep the ranch dressing refrigerated separately. Reheat the wings in the Airfryer until thoroughly hot and crisp again. Avoid reheating the ranch dressing.
Wine Advice
A fresh Riesling is a good match for the spicy Buffalo sauce because its fruitiness provides contrast to the chilli heat. An aromatic Gewürztraminer also works well with the smoky paprika, hot sauce and creamy ranch dressing.
