Ingredients

flour

sugar

shortening
▢

can
cherry pie filling
▢
1
egg yolk + enough milk to make 2/3 cup
▢
1
cup
powdered sugar
▢
liquid
reserve egg white
▢
1
tablespoon
water
▢
1
teaspoon
salt
▢
1
teaspoon
vanilla
Instructions
Mix together flour, shortening, egg yolk, milk, salt, and sugar as for pie crust.
Roll out half of pastry to fit jelly roll pan.
Press on sides.
Spread pie filling over crust.
Roll out remaining dough, cover, and seal.
Beat egg white and brush over crust.
Bake at 375º for 40 minutes.
While warm, drizzle with glaze of powdered sugar, water, and vanilla.
You may need to add more water to obtain drizzling consistency.
