Instructions
Start by preparing the bread dough, following the instructions in steps 1 and 2 of the original recipe.
Once the dough has risen as instructed, punch it down and knead it for about 5 minutes or until it's well combined.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into balls.
Roll each ball out into a 5 x 3-inch rectangle.
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
In the center of each dough rectangle, place one piece of chorizo sausage and top it with a slice of bacon.
Fold up the sides and ends of the dough to encase the sausage and bacon, pinching the seams to seal them tightly.
Sprinkle some cornmeal or bread crumbs on a baking sheet to prevent sticking.
Place the stuffed rolls on the sheet with the pinched side facing down.
Allow them to rest in a warm spot, such as an oven turned off, for 30 minutes.
Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg.
Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.
Serve the Chorizo and Bacon Stuffed Bread Rolls hot or at room temperature for a delightful treat.
