Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: Creaming and Mixing
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Step 3: Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
Step 4: Chocolate and Nuts
Gently fold in the high-quality semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts if using.
Step 5: Scoop and Bake
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
Step 6: Cool and Enjoy
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
