Serving Suggestions
Serve the sausage rolls warm with tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, mustard, or a spicy dipping sauce. Add them to a platter with other appetizer recipes or serve them with coleslaw and a green salad for a casual meal. They also work well as part of a party food selection.
Recipe Notes
Kangaroo is naturally lean, so mix the filling gently and avoid overcooking it. Finely chop the onion so it softens completely during the short cooking time. Leave space between the rolls for proper airflow and cook them in batches when necessary. Explore our Spices & Seasoning recipes for additional ways to flavor the filling.
Variations
Add chopped parsley, thyme, smoked paprika, or chili flakes to the mince. Finely grated carrot can provide moisture and mild sweetness. For a cheesy variation, place a narrow strip of cheddar inside each roll before sealing the pastry. Discover more ideas in our Australian recipes and Air Fryer recipes.
Wine Advice
A fruit-forward Shiraz complements the rich pastry and distinctive game flavor. A medium-bodied Pinot Noir is a lighter option with enough acidity to balance the filling.
