Crispy air-fried cauliflower coated in a spicy flaxseed, Dijon mustard and hot sauce mixture with smoked paprika, garlic and cayenne. A crunchy plant-based snack with plenty of heat.
Combine the flaxseed meal and water in a large mixing bowl and leave for 5 minutes until thickened. Stir in the Dijon mustard and hot sauce. In a second large bowl, combine the flour, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper and white pepper, then season with salt. Preheat the air fryer to 175°C for 3 minutes. Add the cauliflower florets to the flaxseed mixture and toss until thoroughly coated. Working in batches, transfer the cauliflower to the seasoned flour and toss until evenly coated. Spray generously with olive oil cooking spray. Arrange half of the cauliflower in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Air fry at 175°C for 10 minutes or until golden and crisp. Transfer to a bowl, season with salt and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining cauliflower. Serve immediately with extra hot sauce and lemon wedges.

Recipe Notes
Cut the cauliflower into evenly sized florets so they cook at approximately the same rate. Allow the flaxseed meal and water to stand for the full 5 minutes so the mixture thickens before adding the mustard and hot sauce.Coat the cauliflower in batches and shake off excess flour before air frying. Spray the coated florets generously with olive oil cooking spray to prevent dry patches and encourage an evenly browned, crisp coating.Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Leaving space between the florets allows the hot air to circulate properly. For serving, offer additional hot sauce and fresh lemon wedges. Warm pasta sauce can also be served alongside as a dip.
