Ingredients

Filling:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 ¼ cup dates
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup water
  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½-¾ cup nuts
  • 1 teaspoon soda dissolved in 1 tablespoon
  • hot water

Instructions

  • Roll dough ½-inch thick and spread filling, then roll like a jelly roll and chill.
  • When ready to bake, slice.
