Transfer the edamame to the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 5 minutes.
Shake the basket and air fry for another 5 minutes.

Transfer the hot edamame to a small bowl.
Add the Chinese five spice powder and salt.
Toss until evenly coated.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes & Wine Advice
Recipe Notes
Dry the edamame well before adding the sesame oil. Less surface moisture helps the beans become crisp in the air fryer.Shake the basket several times during cooking. This exposes different sides of the edamame to the circulating hot air and promotes even browning.Add the Chinese five spice powder after air frying. This prevents the spices from becoming bitter during the relatively long cooking time. For maximum crunch, allow the edamame to cool for a few minutes before serving. You can also store completely cooled leftovers in an airtight container.
Wine Advice
A fresh Riesling pairs well with the aromatic Chinese five spice and toasted sesame flavors. Its acidity provides a refreshing contrast to the savory, slightly salty edamame.
