Instructions
In a skillet over medium-high heat, combine the hulled and crushed strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
Mix well.
Cook the mixture, stirring often, until the strawberries soften and the mixture thickens, which takes about 10 minutes.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in vanilla extract if using.
Allow the strawberry jam to cool.
