Crispy air-fried broccoli seasoned with hot chili oil, Sichuan peppercorns, fresh ginger, and garlic. The broccoli becomes lightly charred and tender while keeping the distinctive warm, tingly flavour of Sichuan pepper.
Combine the broccoli florets, hot chili oil, Sichuan peppercorns, garlic, ginger, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl and toss until evenly coated.
Transfer the broccoli to the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
Remove the broccoli from the air fryer when lightly charred and tender and serve warm.

Serving Suggestions
Serve this spicy broccoli warm as a Side Dish with rice, noodles, tofu or chicken. It also works particularly well alongside dishes from the Stir-fry / Wok collection. For a larger meal, combine it with recipes from our Rice, Noodels or Chicken collections.
Recipe Notes
Cut the broccoli into similarly sized florets so they cook evenly. Shake the basket halfway through cooking to expose different surfaces to the circulating heat. Sichuan peppercorns provide the characteristic floral and tingling sensation, while black pepper can be used when Sichuan peppercorns are unavailable. Browse our Airfryer recipes for more dishes prepared with the same cooking method.
Variations
Adjust the amount of hot chili oil to make the broccoli milder or hotter. Black pepper can replace the Sichuan peppercorns for a simpler version, although the distinctive tingling flavour will be lost. The same seasoning method can also be used with other recipes from the Vegetables collection. For a different Asian-style meal, browse the Asian and China collections.
Storage and Reheating
Store leftover broccoli in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat it briefly in the Airfryer until hot and lightly crisp again. Avoid reheating for too long because the broccoli can become overly soft.
Wine Advice
A fresh, aromatic Riesling works well with the chilli heat, fresh ginger and distinctive flavour of Sichuan peppercorns. Its freshness provides a pleasant contrast to the spicy Vegetables without overpowering their flavour.
