Sour Cream Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1¾ cups lard or shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Instructions

  • Cream together sugar, shortening, and eggs.
  • Mix in remaining ingredients, combining thoroughly.
  • Roll out and cut in desired shapes.
  • Sprinkle tops with granulated sugar.
  • Bake on greased cookie sheets at 350° for 8–10 minutes.
