Spiced Applesauce Bread
Warm and toasty spices give this applesauce quick bread its sweet, homespun character. A generous amount of chopped pecans tucked inside and a crunchy pecan and brown sugar topping ensure nutty flavor in every bite.

pecans

firmly packed light brown sugar

ground cinnamon
Instructions
Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; stir well.
Combine flour and next 6 ingredients; add to applesauce mixture, stirring well.
Fold in ½ cup pecans.
Pour batter into a greased 9- x 5-inch loaf pan.
Combine remaining cup pecans, brown sugar, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon; sprinkle over batter in pan.
Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes.
Remove from pan, and cool completely on wire rack.
