Instructions
For the Potato Nests:
Spiralize the potatoes into long, thin strands.
Place the potato strands in a large colander.
Rinse them under cold running water until the water runs clear.
Spread the potatoes over a double layer of paper towels.
Pat the strands completely dry.
Place the potatoes in a large mixing bowl.
Add the vegetable oil, smoked paprika and garlic powder.
Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Toss until the potato strands are evenly coated.
Divide the potatoes into 4 equal portions.
Loosely shape each portion into a nest.
Arrange the nests in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
Air-fry at 200°C for approximately 15 minutes.
Carefully turn the nests halfway through the cooking time.
Cook until the potato strands are browned and crisp.
For the Spicy Tomato Ketchup:
Combine the crushed tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce in a blender.
Blend until completely smooth.
Pour the mixture into a small saucepan.
Bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
Cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until reduced by approximately half.
Transfer the ketchup to a serving bowl.
Allow it to cool slightly.
Serve each potato nest hot with the spicy tomato ketchup.
