Tahini Kale Chips are crisp and savory air fryer snacks coated with creamy tahini, coriander, sesame seeds, and olive oil. A finishing touch of red pepper flakes adds gentle heat, while sesame gives the kale a rich, nutty flavor.
Combine the tahini, ground coriander, olive oil, sesame seeds, and sea salt flakes in a large bowl.
Tear the kale leaves into bite-sized pieces.
Add the kale to the bowl and massage the tahini mixture into the leaves until evenly coated.
Place half of the kale in the air fryer basket.
Air fry at 165°C for 5 minutes.
Carefully turn the kale leaves.
Air fry for another 5 minutes until crisp.
Transfer the kale chips to a serving tray and allow them to cool.
Repeat with the remaining kale.
Sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes and additional sea salt before serving.
Notes & Wine Advice
Recipe Notes
Dry the kale thoroughly after washing it. Excess moisture can steam the leaves instead of making them crisp.Massage the tahini mixture into the kale with your fingers. This coats the leaves more evenly and helps the sesame seeds and seasoning stick.Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cooking the kale in batches allows the hot air to circulate and produces crispier chips.Check the kale regularly near the end of cooking because thin leaves can brown quickly. Afterward, let the chips cool completely before storing them in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Wine Advice
A crisp Sauvignon Blanc pairs nicely with the nutty tahini and sesame. Its fresh acidity also provides contrast to the savory kale and spicy red pepper flakes.
